Smitha Venkatesh

Smitha is a Registered Counsellor, Clinical Member of the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), and an experienced educator with over 25 years of international experience across India, Taiwan, Australia, and Singapore. Driven by a passion for fostering strong human relationships and effective communication, she firmly believes that individuals possess the inner strength to heal and thrive when provided with the right guidance and support.

Her academic credentials include a Master of Guidance and Counselling and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from James Cook University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology, and both a B.A. (Honours) and M.A. in English Literature from Delhi University. Beyond clinical therapy, Smitha is an Accredited Mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Institute and serves on the Community Mediation Centre panel.

Throughout her diverse career, she has worked with prestigious organisations, including Mumbai University, The Times of India, the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and various international schools in Singapore. Known for her approachable nature and exceptional rapport-building skills, Smitha expertly manages complex cases involving grief, trauma, self-harm, self-esteem, and relationship challenges.

As the founder of Ayãna Wellbeing, she provides dedicated counselling services to students and staff at an international school in Singapore. Deeply committed to social impact, Smitha actively volunteers within the community, including the Singapore Prisons, and partners with her spouse to support individuals navigating their journey toward holistic wellbeing.
